Above is a plan for the show-reel we would start with the name of the Degree show and the logo and then possibly go onto a timeline with everyone’s names in the order that it would be for everyone in the actual room during the degree show but as said underneath the second image this could over complicate things and a show-reel should plain and simple and just show across work as the work included in the show-reel is the main target for people to see and not the show-reel itself, when it goes to that persons work it will have the work as the main part of the show reel with the logo of our degree show in the bottom left hand corner and the name of the person who made that particular artwork in the bottom left and what they want to go down in the industry so for me its Concept art but for everyone else it will be different, this is still just a concept and i will have to talk to everyone in the class about the idea and if they would want to change anything or add anything in.
In my research for show-reels i found out however that its best to put the best persons work first as people will look for any reason to stop watching or exit the screen if they are watching on a computer at home, so we will have to discuss if the timeline aspect to the show-reel is a good idea or if we just put it in a certain order where we have one of the best works first then after that talk about what order we will want to go down. We will also have to discuss what social media sites we place the show-reel on as YouTube is a must but we would also may need to put in on any other social media sites that we are using to show off the show and try and convince people to come and see our work. Montages work well also so if we could get a montage of someones work and then show the final product that will make people keep watching the show-reel, With montages being great i believe either Ryan’s or Joe’s work would be great for this as they are using 3D software but this is down to debate and I will have to talk to the group about it.
